Fugro has acquired 'VIB Weinhold', a leading supplier of pipeline survey services with an annual revenue of about EUR 3 million and 26 employees based in Erkelenz, a town situated in the western part of Germany between Düsseldorf and Aachen.

VIB Weinhold was established in 1993 and while operating primarily in Germany is increasingly active internationally. The company's activities comprise the planning, survey and documentation of transport and distribution networks, gas plants and power plants for private and public energy companies, as well as the development of software systems to handle related documentation and site management.

The company will be renamed Fugro Weinhold Engineering GmbH with the founder Wolfgang Weinhold as Managing Director.

The global market for infrastructure surveys and related services is one of a number of focus areas for Fugro, not only in terms of Geospatial Services but also Geotechnical Services.
